Vocre Advances to Android on Google Play

San Francisco, CA, Dec 12, 2012 ( via COMTEX) -- Vocre announced today that its award-winning app has now gone live on Android. The advancement will help leverage the popular app to the leading mobile platform, reaching a larger audience that already sees significant usage across Asian markets, among many others. With the release of the Android app, Vocre also adds support for five new languages.

Quotes can be attributed to Andrew Lauder, founder and CEO.

"Businesses are global, while language is local. By taking advantage of the rapid penetration of mobile technology across the world and an engaged community, Vocre provides a superior method for people to communicate instantly across different languages. With better context comes better understanding, and allowing new ways of interacting with others in this diverse world is a huge milestone for technology." Vocre updates include: The real-time translation app maintains a 4.5 star rating in the iOS app store.

On iOS, Vocre has already had more than 2.6 million downloads, and performed more than 70 million translations to date.

36 languages are supported with top-quality speak recognition, manual text query and correction tool.

Vocre's proprietary technology affords a simple interface, cost-effective and fun user experience.

Hybrid offering, which combines automated and crowdsourced translation for better accuracy.

Disrupts the $34 billion dollar marketplace that witnesses a 13% Y2Y growth.

Indonesian, Malay, Romanian, Slovak and Vietnamese now supported.

According to IDC, the Android operating system is now found on three out of every four smartphones shipped in the third quarter of 2012, which bodes well for Vocre's global expansion.

"We've all learned the hard way that machine translation alone falls short on providing proper context and accuracy. Personal communication requires proper context for understanding and in business situations; accurate, real-time communication fosters success. We're working hard to continue leading and improving a solution to address both needs in the marketplace." Vocre is a cost-effective live translation solution for mobile devices with a growing multimillion-member community poised to forever alter the language translation market.

The Vocre App is available on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and for Android mobile devices in Google Play.
