Huddersfield Town Robins quits after 4-0 home loss on opening day
(Guardian (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mark Robins has left his role as the Huddersfield Town manager only one game into the Championship season. The 44-year-old took charge at Huddersfield in February 2013, helping them avoid relegation that year and then leading them to a 17th-place finish last season. However, a 4-0 drubbing at home to Bournemouth on the opening day of the campaign led to the manager and his players being jeered by fans. After a meeting with Huddersfield's board in the evening, it was mutually agreed Robins would step aside. The Town chairman, Dean Hoyle, said in a statement: "Following yesterday's defeat, Mark met the board of directors. Mark and the directors agreed it would be in the interests of all parties to part company. Mark's contract has ended amicably and by mutual consent."
