Real-Time Communications Create Opportunities in Video Conferencing Collaboration

Using wireless to stay connected is one thing; using any device to launch video conferencing with multiple parties by simply launching the browser is something else entirely. It’s the real-time communications element we’ve always wanted and it’s one of the driving forces behind the innovation in WebRTC.




One company on the forefront in this space is Apex. Representatives were on hand at the recent WebRTC Conference & Expo to talk about their role in the industry. Earlier this year, the company also announced the general availability of its CloudCast Enterprise Services Suite, also known as ACCESS.

This suite of cloud-based services was designed specifically for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) seeking to develop new revenue streams. ACCESS immediately adds value to the Enterprise offerings MNOs already have on the table, enabling the enterprise to capture new and emerging opportunities. The suite includes a store locator, network automated attendant, network automatic call distribution, video and audio conferencing and outbound and SMS telemarketing.

With access to services like these, the enterprise has the ability to project an image that is larger and more professional, without making significant investments. As the enterprise is favoring flexible technology deployment options, this suite offers a shorter path to the benefits associated with real-time collaboration.

“ACCESS has already proven itself as a revenue-generator by being deployed at the largest MNO in Africa, with over 55 million subscribers”, said Elhum Vahdat, Executive Vice President at APEX Voice Communications, in a press release. “Looking to offer prepaid hosted services to its small and medium Enterprise customers, shortly after this MNO awarded the bid to one of the world’s largest telecommunication equipment manufacturers (TEMs), APEX was brought in by the TEM to integrate ACCESS into its solution and complete the project.”

Seamless integration and cost benefits are two key elements sought with cloud-based communications. When collaboration is also extended across the call center and video conferencing without a required platform, the value expands even further. This is the concept behind WebRTC and one of the reasons Apex is a key player in this space.
