Comings and Goings: GENBAND Hires New Sales Lead for CALA Region

December 02, 2014

Real-time communications software developer GENBAND recently announced its newest hire, Ricardo Diaz, who will lead company sales in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA).

In the announcement, GENBAND speaks highly of Diaz's experience. It says the CALA region is important to the company's growth and that Diaz will be able to expand sales in the region with his knowledge of the market and his telecom and software experience.
John Ryan, senior vice president of Americas sales at GENBAND commented, “The CALA region is a strategic growth market for GENBAND and continues to be a key part of our long-term organizational success, so having a veteran leader with Ricardo’s experience and relationships is a significant benefit for us,” Ryan said. “Ricardo thoroughly understands the CALA market and his extensive telecom and software experience perfectly aligns with GENBAND’s strategic direction.”
The announcement also notes that Diaz will report directly to Ryan. Diaz's knowledge of the region comes in no small part from the position he just left at Westfall Technologies where he was vice president of that company's CALA sales. He has also worked at Openwave Systems, Tekelec, and Harris Corporation in various positions that included senior sales, sales management, and business development.
GENBAND's latest push for communications market dominance is highlighted with its Kandy platform. Offered as a development platform via the cloud, Kandy gives developers an easy way to leverage application programming interfaces and software development kits in order to bring real-time communications capabilities to their subscribers. Adding real-time communications to any application, GENBAND said, has not historically been an easy task. With Kandy, all the necessary tools are in front of developers.
It is Kandy and many other company products that may be placed on Diaz's shoulders. However heavy that weight, though, GENBAND appears to have confidence in his ability to secure a strong future for the company in the CALA region and to expand sales there in the future months and years.
