Communications Industry Readies for Another Perspectives Event

April 29, 2015

Each year GENBAND invites customers, partners, and prospects to its Perspectives event to interact, learn about new communications solutions and business models, and have a little fun. The company and its community are now looking forward to the next such event – Perspectives15, which will take place May 17 through 21 at the JW Marriott Grand Lakes Orlando resort.

Last year, Perspectives14 was momentous because it featured the unveiling of Kandy, a platform-as-a-service that allows service providers to expose network resources for use by developers building real-time communications into their applications. That’s not to mention the broad array of engaging presentations by GENBAND, its partners, and customers.

In addition to Kandy and how to battle the OTT threat, network functions virtualization, network power savings, network transformation, and WebRTC were also important themes at Perspectives14.

While last year’s even was great, Perspectives15 is shaping up to be even bigger and better, notes Bita Milanian, senior vice president of marketing communications at GENBAND.

The event this year will take place at a larger resort venue with a wide array of top-drawer dining and leisure activity amenities. And the band KANSAS, best known for its chart-topping songs Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind, will be the entertainment. The educational opportunities will also be stand-out.

They include a keynote presentation by Sir Ken Robinson, whose 2006 TED Conference video represents the most viewed video in the history of TED, as well as presentations by leaders at important communications companies including GENBAND, HP, Intel, SAP, and Verizon.

“Creativity is the name of the game in business and in life and that’s why I’m particularly excited to have Sir Ken Robinson joining us this year,” says GENBAND CEO, President and Chairman David Walsh. “Attendees have always given us very high marks for the richness and quality of the content we deliver at Perspectives, and I’m confident, with the caliber of presenters and planned topics, that this year will be better than ever.”

Among the GENBAND partners that will be involved in Perspectives15 are Alternate Communications, ARROW, Artesyn, AVOTUS, Baker Botts, Black Box, Calix, Dell, Edgewater Networks,  HP, Innovative Systems, Intel, ITian, NetNumber, NETXUSA, Phoenix Telecom Solutions, Polycom, T-Metrics, Vidyo, Wind River, Yealink.

GENBAND will also welcome Perspectives15 attendees to hop aboard the KandyMobile RV. The vehicle is equipped with the Kandy communications platform, which allows anyone to easily embed real-time communications such as IM, voice, and one-touch multiparty video into new or existing applications and business processes.
