ConteXtream Sponsors GENBAND Perspectives15 Summit, Participates in Panel

May 15, 2015

ConteXtream, a provider of carrier-grade network virtualization solutions, has announced that it is an Exhibitor Level Sponsor of GENBAND Perspectives15 Annual Customer and Partner Summit.

“Perspectives has quickly become one of the signature, must-attend events in the industry and it would not be possible without the support of great partners like ConteXtream,” Patrick Joggerst, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at GENBAND, said. “Perspectives is being held at a new, larger venue this year and with the lineup of top-tier presenters, sponsors and entertainment that we have scheduled, this year’s conference promises to be the best yet. We are looking forward to ConteXtream and our other partners being a significant part of the success of this year’s event.”

The conference will he held from May 17-21 at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes in Florida.

In addition to sponsoring the conference, Sharon Rozov, ConteXtream’s senior architect, will participate in a panel with executives from such companies as HP, Intel and Wind River.

The company offers what it says is the first carrier-grade OpenDaylight-based SDN fabric. It’s designed to allow mobile, broadband and cable providers to build scalable SIP networks. OpenDaylight is an open source platform for software defined networking, similar to the OpenStack standard for cloud computing.

The marriage of SIP to SDN is an attempt for carriers to avoid their customers defecting to over-the-top services like Skype. By using software-define networking instead of traditional switches, carriers can offer better services over more flexible virtual switches.

“Carriers today are facing a shift from physical to virtual systems and they are looking to SDN to enable them to make this important shift,” said Anshu Agarwal, vice president of marketing at ConteXtream. “With GENBAND, ConteXtream is providing a solution that enables service providers to offer innovative real-time communications services on the virtualized platform.”
