Real Time Communications Week in Review: GENBAND, Kandy, Quobis

June 27, 2015

Real time communications is no longer a new term in the market. Communications that are happening in real-time have become a necessity for businesses and consumers alike. Nothing compares to being able to communicate and operate in the present. The technology that makes RTC possible continues to make headlines.

GENBAND, which has already claimed its foothold in this space, filled the news headlines this week.

The company’s Kandy offering makes it possible for service providers to deliver differentiated offerings that make use of rich communications services within both business and consumer apps - on mobile and on the Web.

Recognizing the strength of this offering, moBack has announced it is now an ecosystem partner.

The company, which provides a mobile backend-as-a-service (MBaaS) platform for users to develop and release apps for both mobile and the Web, is going to be making use of Kandy to also add voice and video chat tools to the platform offering.

Not only are new partners signing on, but validation of the offering is coming from research firms too. This week, Aragon Research placed Kandy on its 2015 Hot Vendor list.

Kandy was placed on the 2015 Hot Vendor list in the field of real time communications and collaboration platform-as-a-service (PaaS).

Elías Pérez Carrera, CEO of Quobis caught up with TMC’s Paula Bernier at the recent Prespectives15 event to chat about the updates to its SIPPO solution and the work its been doing with GENBAND.
