Apico to Offer Advanced Voice Communications Functionality

August 11, 2015

The way we communicate is getting more complicated as smart mobile devices get integrated into the infrastructure of organizations. This has led to companies looking for tailored solutions, and developers and operators are answering that demand with telecom APIs so they can compete with Over-The-Top (OTT) developers.

According to a new market report published by Transparency Market Research in July of this year, the global telecom API market is expected to reach $323.44 billion by 2022, with a CAGR of 23.6 percent from 2015 to 2022. A European startup, Apico, is addressing this market with the unveiling of VoIP services, which is being developed with its cloud-based telecom API platform.

Founded by an international team with traditional and cloud communications background, Apico offers voice, messaging, and video capabilities for Web, mobile, and enterprise apps through its cloud API platform. The company was established so its customers can create customized communications solutions covering a wide range of scenarios—from basic voice apps to enterprise grade services.

The Transparency Market Research also revealed voice APIs held the largest share of around 28 percent in 2014. With Apico, businesses will be able to add more features and advanced functionalities to their voice services.

The company is using its cloud platform to deliver enterprise-grade VoIP solution with features such as, handling of incoming and outbound calls, a masked voice chat (Incognito), custom phone apps (softphone), advanced voice, messaging and video capabilities as well as embedding real time communications into software apps with a complete API platform.

According to the company, several industries have shown interest in this product. This includes online retailers, social media sites, classified ad sites, dating services, hotels, travel companies, banks and other service-oriented businesses. The greatest benefit it will offer these sectors is the ability to communicate in real time seamlessly without having to worry about roaming, long distance and international call charges, device theft, etc.

The cloud-based platform lets users embed voice services into any webpage or mobile application without the need of any other infrastructure.

“We relish the challenge of adding one more cloud-based telecom API platform to the market,” emphasized Andrey Khlystunov, CTO at Apico, adding that “what sets us apart is the deep expertise we have poured into our product. Ultimately, we would love to see Apico move past being just a software company to becoming a cloud telecom advisor and an expert offering the customer a helping hand. Together we can create flexible, reliable, and cost-effective communications solutions customized to meet specific business needs.”

Organizations no longer want to be tied to the long term contracts of traditional telecom service delivery systems. The Apico platform can scale from 1 to infinity with an agile and pay-as-you-go economical structure that is essential in today’s IT environment.
