Provider of real-time communications solutions GENBAND has been selected by AsiaInfo, a provider of internet-based systems and software for the telecommunications industry, to deliver advanced real-time multimedia communications to AsiaInfo’s extensive customer base. In particular, the company plans to leverage GENBAND’s Kandy communications platform as a service (cPaaS) and fring white label OTT offering to accomplish this.
This agreement comes near the end of a pretty solid year for GENBAND. A major cause for celebration was the one year anniversary of Kandy, a solution that facilitates the embedding of real-time communications into already existing business workflows by way of APIs and SDKs. Also this year, GENBAND made the 2015 CNBC Disruptor 50 list, which aims to recognize private companies for forward-thinking advancements, while helping investors recognize the companies behind major industry movements.
"Today's digital innovation landscape is forcing businesses to imagine and execute new business outcomes. Kandy empowers them to do it faster, more effectively, and more imaginatively than ever before," said Paul Pluschkell, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Cloud Services for GENBAND and Kandy Founder. "Partnering with AsiaInfo to bring these capabilities to the massive Chinese market heralds a new turning point in the transformation of businesses everywhere."
By entering into this agreement with GENBAND, AsiaInfo is enhancing its suite of OSS/BSS/CRM solutions with the help of Kandy-delivered OTT services and a newly developed multimedia contact center offering. Aside from allowing communications service providers (CSPs) and global enterprises to embed new real-time communications functionality into their offerings, Kandy helps companies to rapidly create and deploy new services, while enhancing workflows.
As of now, 15 million users worldwide benefit from Kandy-enabled contextual communications in industries such as telecommunications, retail and healthcare. Through GENBAND’s new partnership with AsiaInfo, this number will soon grow even larger as the latter company has more than 50 percent market share in billing, CRM and business intelligence in China.
