GENBAND and NetNumber Help Cellact Move Toward NFV

Even though we’re still firmly in the first quarter of the year, GENBAND has already done a lot in 2016 in terms of helping network operators improve their networks. Earlier this month, for example, the company helped Johnson Telephone Company upgrade its communications infrastructure with the GENBAND Network Transformation solution. Around that time, GENBAND also helped Brazilian telecommunications provider Oi switch to IP call centers.

As a follow up, GENBAND is now providing mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Cellact Communication an HLR/AuC-enabled platform in partnership with NetNumber. The platform is already deployed and will support Cellact’s transition to a software-based, virtualized infrastructure.

"Our previous relationship with GENBAND, and their comprehensive solution with NetNumber, made this a simple choice."

In partnership with NetNumber, GENBAND integrated the TITAN centralized signaling and routing control (CSRC) platform into GENBAND’s industry-leading portfolio to offer market-leading interconnect and IMS solutions. The joint solution enables communications service providers (CSPs) to achieve unrivalled levels of scalability, efficiency and profitability in IMS and non-IMS networks, in turn enabling optimal route decisions, as well as route quality and profitability.

In the past, Cellact deployed GENBAND’s Q10 SBC, C3 Call Session Controller and G9 IP Gateway. Based on these experiences with GENBAND, Cellact selected the combined GENBAND/NetNumber solution in order to achieve a superior level of customer care and the ability to future-proof its network with advanced services and technology.
