Yorktel to Show Off Next Gen Work Place

March 02, 2016

Does Yorktel have the secret of time travel in its pocket? That might be a step too far, but it's certainly got the means to save a lot of time and get a lot more done in less time. With a wide array of communications tools designed to bridge wide geographic gaps, the company is set to demonstrate some of its tools at an upcoming industry event and show attendees what our future workplace may be like.

According to Yorktel officials, the “Next Generation Workplace” is, “an environment that enables agile user experiences by fostering productivity, efficiency, and optimal growth potential.”

Part of this will include Yorktel's new Univago system, a cloud video communications-as-a-service platform which offers Univago Meeting Rooms (U Rooms) as a means to provide a full conferencing experience without a lot of the infrastructure normally required. The U Room can offer space for as many as 30 participants, providing 720p HD video along with screen sharing tools.

That's not all that's on hand; Univago can work with a variety of other tools, ranging from session initiation protocol (SIP) to Web-based real time communications (WebRTC), and a host of others. There are even mobile and PC clients for Univago, giving this service even more versatility. The service is available on a subscription basis, and with self-service options, allowing for top-notch scalability to reflect conditions on the ground.

Senior vice president for product development at Yorktel, John Vitale said, “Organizations everywhere must accommodate employees connecting from various devices operating systems in settings not always conducive to secure communications. Univago was developed specifically to help the many enterprises currently unable to reap the benefits of video communications because their existing infrastructure is not built to overcome complexities.”

A workforce that is increasingly mobile, whether it's just working from home, or from the business' headquarters, or it's actively moving from place to place as part of the job, needs the right tools to get the best results. Communications tools must be part of this equation.

Yorktel may not have the secret to time travel on hand, but it can bridge gaps of geography and keep an increasingly mobile workforce better unified. That's the next best thing, and it should mean great success ahead for Yorktel.
