The mobile market has been on a steady upward climb for years now and there’s little reason to think it will stop any time soon. Practically every facet of the mobile space is set for growth as mobile devices continue to permeate our home and work lives. Even the prepaid mobile space is growing as consumers look for better deals and unlocked devices become cheaper and more easily obtainable.
As such, it should come as little surprise that a new report from Transparency Market Research (TMR) sees growth for the global enterprise mobility market over the forecast period of 2015 to 2022. The report, entitled “Enterprise Mobility Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast 2015 - 2022,” examines the growth trajectory of the market and the factors causing organizations to adopt these advanced solutions.
Put simply, the report states that the global enterprise mobility market, which stood at $86.36 billion in 2014, will surge ahead to reach $510.39 billion by the end of 2022. If this proves accurate, then this market will exhibit a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.7 percent between 2015 and 2022.
TMR believes much of this growth can be traced to organizations around the world increasingly demanding better operational speed and efficiency. In addition, enterprise mobility solutions tend to be customized to meet the distinct requirements of each enterprise, which could play a role in the global enterprise mobility market’s staggering valuation as opposed to, say, the less exacting consumer space.
The global enterprise mobility market, for the purposes of this report, is segmented into three categories: laptops, tablets and smartphones. In 2014, despite the smartphone boom, laptops were the most preferred device, likely for their superior multitasking abilities over devices running lightweight mobile operating systems like iOS and Android. However, the demand for smartphones is expected to increase substantially during the report’s forecast period.
When it comes to software, the global enterprise market is segmented into mobile application management, mobile device management, telecom expense management, mobile message management, and content and enterprise email management. Of these, mobile device management was the most widely used software. By market, the IT and telecommunications segment accounted for the largest share, while North America led the global market for enterprise mobility.
